Are You Part Of God’s Army? - Part II

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; II Corinthians 10:3-5

In this issue of The Prophetic Messenger, we will continue a message titled “Are You Part Of God’s Army?”

1. We Must Know Our Enemy

We are in a war. The Christians are in God’s army fighting against the devil and his army. But sadly many who profess Christianity have no idea that we are in a battle or know who we are fighting against. The apostle Paul talked about this very thing in II Corinthians 2:11 which says “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” Also, in Ephesians 6:12 it says “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” The apostle Paul did not want us to be ignorant of satan’s devices and the spiritual battle that we are in today.

a) Satan is a Counterfeit Of God
Satan is a counterfeit of God the Father and he (Satan) wants to be worshipped. We can see this in a few examples in the scriptures. One such example is in Matthew 4 when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness. In Matthew 4:8-10 it says “8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Another example of this is in Revelation 13 which shows the world worshipping Satan (the dragon) after the false death of the antichrist (the beast). In Revelation 13:3-4 it says “3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?”

The antichrist is a counterfeit of Jesus Christ. The antichrist is Satan in the flesh. In Revelation 13:2 it says “And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” The dragon is another name for Satan. In II Thessalonians 2:9 it says “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.” All who are not written in the book of life shall worship the antichrist. In Revelation 13:6-8 it says “6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

The false prophet is a counterfeit of the Holy Ghost. The false prophet lifts up the antichrist and causes the people to worship the antichrist and his image. In Revelation 13:12-15 it says “12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”

For more information about Satan being a counterfeit, see the January/February 2000 issue of the Prophetic Messenger newsletter, the article titled “Satan is a Counterfeit Of God.”

b) Evil Spirits/Fallen Angels In The Heaven And Earth
Satan and his fallen angels are warring in the heavens against God’s holy angels. In Revelation 12:7-9 it says “7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” This scripture shows that Satan and his fallen angels will be cast out of the heavens onto the earth. When this happens, we will see more demonic activity on the earth as scripture shows us in Revelation 12:12 which says “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

In closing, as demonic activity increases on the earth, we as Christians must be prepared to fight and to be victorious over the powers of darkness.

Memory Verses

As Christians if we want to live in victory and if we want to be able to share the Word Of God with others we must know the Word of God ourselves. Let's see what the Bible says about this. "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119:11. "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:7. "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed." John 8:31. We encourage you to put the following scriptures in your heart: Isaiah 66:16, I John 2:9, Philippians 1:21, Ecclesiastes 11:5, Acts 4:12, Isaiah 5:14, Ephesians 4:5 Zechariah 3:1, Acts 3:1 Psalm 66:18. Use only the Old King James version of the Holy Bible. (If you have any questions about this please see the book New Age Bible Versions, by G.A. Riplinger ©1993, ISBN 0-9635845-0-2.)
