The Door Is Closing - Part II
For I would not,
brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest
ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in
part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the
Gentiles be come in. Romans 11:25
In this issue of The Prophetic Messenger we will continue a
message about the door closing to the Gentiles which means
that the time will come when no more Gentiles can be saved.
1. The Day Of Pentecost (The Start Of The
Church)
When the day of Pentecost came they were all
filled with the Holy Ghost and this was the start of the
Church. The church grew as the apostle Peter preached on
the day of Pentecost and the church added about three
thousand souls. Chapter 2 of Acts shows this great event.
In Acts 2:1-47 it says
"1 And when the day of Pentecost
was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a
rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they
were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues
like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they
were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak
with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5
And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out
of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised
abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded,
because that every man heard them speak in his own
language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying
one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak
Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue,
wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites,
and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and
Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia,
in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and
strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and
Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the
wonderful works of God. 12 And they were all amazed, and
were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? 13
Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine. 14 But
Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice,
and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell
at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my
words: 15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing
it is but the third hour of the day. 16 But this is that
which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 And it shall come
to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my
Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters
shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and
your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and
on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my
Spirit; and they shall prophesy: 19 And I will shew wonders
in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and
fire, and vapour of smoke: 20 The sun shall be turned into
darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and
notable day of the Lord come: 21 And it shall come to pass,
that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be
saved. 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of
Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and
wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of
you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by
the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have
taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24
Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death:
because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord
always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I
should not be moved: 26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and
my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in
hope: 27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell,
neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt
make me full of joy with thy countenance. 29 Men and
brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch
David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre
is with us unto this day. 30 Therefore being a prophet, and
knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the
fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise
up Christ to sit on his throne; 31 He seeing this before
spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not
left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 32 This
Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33
Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and
having received of the Father the promise of the Holy
Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith
himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right
hand, 35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool. 36 Therefore
let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath
made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and
Christ. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in
their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the
apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter
said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the
promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that
are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort,
saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 41
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and
the same day there were added unto them about three
thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the
apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of
bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul:
and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. 44
And all that believed were together, and had all things
common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted
them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And they,
continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and
breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with
gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and
having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to
the church daily such as should be saved."
2. The Gentiles Receive The Gift Of The Holy
Ghost
After the day of Pentecost the Holy Ghost was
poured out on only the Jewish people. Later, as the apostle
Peter was preaching to Cornelius, he and those at his house
were filled with the Holy Ghost. This was the first time
the Holy Ghost fell upon Gentiles. In Acts 10:34-48 it says
"34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I
perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in
every nation he that feareth him, and worketh
righteousness, is accepted with him. 36 The word which God
sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus
Christ: (he is Lord of all:) 37 That word, I say, ye know,
which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from
Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; 38 How God
anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with
power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were
oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. 39 And we are
witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of
the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a
tree: 40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him
openly; 41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen
before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him
after he rose from the dead. 42 And he commanded us to
preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which
was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. 43
To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name
whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell
on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the
circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as
came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was
poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard
them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered
Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not
be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as
we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of
the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days."
3. The Jews Oppose; Gentiles Believe
As the
apostles began to preach to the Gentiles, the Jewish people
came against Paul and Barnabas. In Acts 13:44-52 it says
"44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city
together to hear the word of God. 45 But when the Jews saw
the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake
against those things which were spoken by Paul,
contradicting and blaspheming. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas
waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God
should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it
from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting
life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so hath the Lord
commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the
Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the
ends of the earth. 48 And when the Gentiles heard this,
they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as
many as were ordained to eternal life believed. 49 And the
word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
50 But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women,
and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution
against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their
coasts. 51 But they shook off the dust of their feet
against them, and came unto Iconium. 52 And the disciples
were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost." The
apostle Paul spoke in verse 46
"Then Paul and Barnabas
waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God
should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it
from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting
life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles." This is the time
when the Jewish people rejected the gospel and the Gentiles
received it.

Memory Verses
As Christians if we want to live in
victory and if we want to be able to share the Word Of God
with others we must know the Word of God ourselves. Let's
see what the Bible says about this. "Thy word have I hid in
mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm
119:11. "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye
shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you."
John 15:7. "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on
him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples
indeed." John 8:31. We encourage you to put the following
scriptures in your heart: Matthew 28:13-15, Genesis
41:33-35, Mark 14:51-52, Romans 1:14-16, Genesis 4:8-10,
Romans 14:10-12, I Corinthians 4:4-5, James 1:9-10, Genesis
25:27-28, I Corinthians 13:3-5. Use only the Old King James
version of the Holy Bible. (If you have any questions about
